Sweet chili pineapple sauce is a versatile and delicious condiment which erupts flavors across the various platters. You will simply fall in love with this sauce that has just the right mix of sweet, hot and tangy tastes.

Ingredients:

1 cup of juice from pineapples

½ cup sweet chili sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

One tablespoon honey

One teaspoon ginger, finely chopped.

A teaspoonful of garlic minced.

Cornstarch (a teaspoon).

Water (a tablespoonful).

Instructions:

Take pineapple juice, sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, ginger finelly chopped and garlic minced in a small saucepan.

Stir occasionally until simmered over medium heat.

Slurry can be prepared by mixing cornstarch with water in a small bowl.

Gradually add cornstarch slurry to the sauce pan while stirring continuously till it reaches your desired thickness.

Cool slightly before serving after removing from heat.

Spring rolls come out well when served with sweet chili pineapple as a dipping sauce for them; otherwise chicken tenders or grill shrimp could also go along very well with this while others may prefer to glaze their chicken, pork or salmon using it too.

Hints for Success:

For those who do not want their food to become too sugary but are looking forward to some touch of sweetness on it then they might decide to adjust the quantity of sweet chili as well as honey used here basing upon your taste preferences.

To make the sauce even smoother, strain it after you have thickened it.

Put any remaining sauce in a sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Health Benefits:

Pineapple juice contains bromelain and vitamin C, both of which are anti-inflammatory substances that may help speed digestion.

Garlic and ginger are two examples of such foods with immune boosting qualities as well as reducing inflammation.

Antioxidants are available when honey is employed as a sweetener thereby aiding soothing a sore throat.

Variations and Substitutions:

Spicy Variation: Add some red pepper flakes or jalapeno to your sauce if you want to make it spicy. It’s up to you how much heat you can take so adjust accordingly.

Fruity Twist: Another way to add more fruitiness is by putting pineapple or mango cubes into the sauce. Include the fruits in the pan and simmer together with other ingredients until tender.

Citrus Zest: The kick of citrus can be achieved by adding lime or lemon zests into the sauce. This gives more life and sophistication to this flavor profile.

Herb Mixture: Infuse the sauce with fresh herbs such as cilantro or Thai basil for a fragrant twist. Just put some chopped herbs into the pan while you cook, and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Vegan Option: Use maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey to make this sauce vegan. Alternatively, you could make your own vegan sweet chili sauce using a recipe that is suitable for vegans.

Gluten-Free Alternative: For gluten-free versions of the sauce, use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari instead of regular soy sauce. In addition, substitute cornstarch with arrowroot powder or tapioca starch which are both gluten-free thickening agents.

Low-Sodium Version: If you want to reduce the amount of sodium in your recipe, then replace regular soy sauce with low-sodium soy sauce or tamari. Also, if desired one can adjust to taste by using less amount of soy sauce in preparation.

Nut-Free Option: In case you have allergic reactions to nuts or don’t eat them at all, avoid sprinkling sesame seeds over it. Even without sesame seeds, the taste will be same.

Personalized Sweetness: Change how much sweet chili sauce and honey you put in the mixture depending on whether you would prefer it to be more sugary and taste sweeter or less sugar and hence lesser sweetness. At each step during tasting add more honey if desired sweeter version is needed otherwise subtract it if not necessary for mild flavors
